According to European Vogue, THE top trending color in 2019 fashion is brown. While that might sound boring and maybe even down right repulsive to some, my bland little neutral loving heart is over here about to explode (insert all praise hand emojis here).
Growing up my mom wished I was a bit more colorful in my clothing choices; at times I even humored her and played along – leaving me with some of the most embarrassing Facebook photos ever (Yeah I’m looking at you ugly yellow prom dress). However, you know one thing that has never really bothered me about any past trending fashion? Neutral color. I can’t ever remember looking at a photo and thinking to myself “wow that neutral tone is so ugly” NOPE. Patterns and bold colors come and go (cough zebra. cough chevron.) but neutral is classic. Maybe I’m boring. Maybe I play it safe. or maybe I naturally just tend to gravitate towards classic colors. Whatever the case may be, all I know is that I’m totally feeling this whole color shift.
Freed from the 70’s, the brown tones are back and better than ever – a true modern hue. So if you are one of my SHOPKBETH thriftonistas, expect to see a little more milky beige, soft sand, and dark chocolate popping up in the shop and if you are one of my reseller friends, I vote let’s get ahead of the game and start snagging all the brown.
